But that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style or creativity to create an interactive projection surface. It just means that you need to make sure you get enough of a diverse range of options.

If you think about it logically, most (if not all) interactive features in a typical floor display would require either a projector or some kind of input device such as a TV or computer for each employee. Why not combine these two technologies into one display? That way you can use a projector for when guests arrive, so you can have the TV for instructional videos and presentations, and the computer for things like sales projections and inventory items.

You can also combine a projector with an LCD screen so your interactive exhibits look like true 3-D displays. With digital projectors, one or two small projectors (like the kind you see on movie theaters) projecting the same image over again creates an illusion of moving objects. You can use a digital projector to project a still-life or a moving image onto a large floor screen and then project it out of a thin wall on which the audience will sit and see it as if they were right there in front of the exhibit.

If you've got a large venue, like a convention center, you can add other interactive features like video screens and audio systems. If you need a special kind of display for a particular event, you might contact one of them and ask what options are available. In the long run, the cost of installing an interactive floor will probably be much less than having to pay for traditional display methods, like carpeting or static displays.
