Using Wall Games to Enhance Your Children's Learning
A wall interactive game is a great way to encourage children to use their imaginations. Imagination is important in learning and it is even more so when you are trying to teach young children. You can give a fun imagination based activity and then teach them a second language or skill through the activity as well. This allows them to use their imagination even more and you can show off that skill to the class.
Children are naturally curious and they love to learn. When you incorporate an activity like this with the opportunity for children to use their imagination you will be able to inspire creativity and learning at the same time. When you have children playing the activity they will be engaged with what they are doing. They will be curious about what is going on around them and they will want to know more. If you have an active discussion with your children about the wall interactive game they will enjoy it.
You can have different types of activities designed for this type of game and you can use many different materials. A few of the materials that are easy to find are stickers, paint, markers and magnets. These items are relatively inexpensive and you can do this project yourself with only some instruction. Even younger children can pick up the wall interactive game fairly easily.
One issue that you may run into is children getting bored. This happens regardless of how long you have been teaching these games. The key is to make sure you keep the game interesting enough to keep the children's attention. This means you need to vary the difficulty level of the game. If you start out with a game such as "I Spy" you can add in simple instruction as the children get more involved.
It is best to start children out with the easy versions of the wall interactive game. As they get more adventurous you can increase the levels. Remember that the more complex the task, the more of an obstacle it will present to the children. You can also include a reward system in which children can be given small tokens whenever they complete their particular activity. The goal of this reward system is to ensure that the children are motivated to play this particular activity. For example, you might offer a child a sticker whenever they answer a quiz question correctly.
Finally, when you are designing your own wall interactive game remember that children get bored quite quickly. They are always looking for something new. If you want to keep them interested, keep the learning curve open. Do not fall into the trap of designing a wall interactive game that is extremely hard to understand. You can always go back and add more information or reword a phrase.
