Using Interactive Projection Software to Express Yourself

Interactive projection software can help create and perform a great many things, but perhaps the most important thing it can do is to help create a sense of reality that is part of your display, rather than just using a projection screen to project whatever image you have on it. There are some products on the market that do this, but a lot of them require heavy equipment and expensive software that aren't necessary for all situations. Even if you are planning on using projection screens in other venues, you should definitely be able to take advantage of using interactive projection software, because it is a wonderful thing that does so much. It can really help make things come to life when you are projecting things onto a large surface, whether you are doing so on your wall or your ceiling.

One example that is commonly used to illustrate this point is the installation of light patterns onto a ceiling, or even onto a wall. Light patterns can be displayed as a moving pattern over a computer screen, creating a visually moving picture on the screen for everyone to see. This kind of technology is called light field projection, and it was actually created at the University of California in the late 1960s. A paper published by graduate student of Lee Strasberg and his student coworkers described their invention in detail, and their paper is freely available online for anyone interested to read. The paper discusses the process of using a standard computer image to form this moving pattern into a virtual reality on a standard screen, with a variety of sound effects to further enhance the experience.

This paper was only the beginning of the invention of interactive projection software. While it covered basic techniques, it did not yet describe methods that were possible for creating and playing with a three-dimensional image or pattern. That sort of thing was left up to more advanced and specific interactive projection software. Some of the earliest versions were simply very primitive, but as the technology grew they became better.

Now, you might think that it's impossible to design something so complex as this, but actually things are quite simple. You'll need to figure out the exact dimensions of whatever scene you want to project, and then you simply need to figure out how to project that image onto a flat surface. Typically, that would translate to using some kind of computer graphic program, like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. There are many people who have worked hard to figure out specific tricks and methods for making the most of these programs, so you really can make your artwork come to life if you use the right software.

After you've figured out all of the necessary details, it's time to start implementing your ideas. One of the best places to start is with images. For instance, you might decide to create an interactive image of a toy ship using a child's favorite characters. You could then overlay that image over a background that contains moving imagery of the toy ship. This would give you a great way of creating a unique image, and the kids would love it. The trick is in knowing what to layer over which, and how to blend those images to create the finished product.

All of this is only the beginning, though. Other ways of using interactive projection software to its fullest extent include employing 3D animation techniques, as well as the ability to project images onto flat surfaces, such as pieces of wood. In addition to this, you can also take your image manipulation a step further and add 3D effects to it. This will help you create truly moving pieces of art and allow you to present any idea you have in a completely new light.
